Since the early 1990s, Scott Pickey has been involved in 
television news in a variety of positions with increasing levels of 
responsibility. Scott Pickey attended Christian Brothers University in 
Memphis, Tennessee, where he graduated with a bachelor of arts in 
communication arts and an emphasis in journalism. Afterward he became a 5
 p.m. anchor, producer, and reporter for KTVO-TV in Kirksville, 
Missouri, where he stayed for two years before becoming news director 
and 6 and 10 p.m. anchor for KQTV-TV in St. Joseph, Missouri. Mr. Pickey
 moved to North Carolina to serve as news director for WECT-TV, then 
functioned as dayside executive producer for WRAL-TV in Raleigh. 
Later,
 after being recruited by Pappas Telecasting, Scott Pickey served as 
news director and production supervisor for KDBC-TV in El Paso, Texas, 
for two years, overseeing the news and production departments. Then he 
became news director, director of digital online content, and news 
promotions director at WWAY-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina. 
When he’s not working, Mr. Pickey enjoys playing golf and regularly visits the golf courses around southeast North Carolina.
