Top Festivals Held in Edmonton, Canada

Often referred to as Canada’s Festival City, Edmonton hosts a huge range of festivals throughout the year. Summer is one of the biggest festival seasons, but visitors can find exciting events throughout the year. Below are just a few of the top festivals the city has to offer:

1. Edmonton International Jazz Festival. Established in 2005, the International Jazz Festival is one of Canada’s more notable jazz events. Held in late June, the event showcases jazz music from artists around the world and is a great place to collaborate and celebrate the music style.

2. Ice on Whyte Festival. For more than a decade, the Ice on Whyte Festival has been providing locals and visitors with a unique event in late January to early February. The 10-day festival features everything from ice carving lessons to a giant ice slide and plenty of food.

3. Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival. Welcoming more than 93,000 attendees every year, this event is the oldest and largest theatre festival in North America. The event is held in August and is recognized around the world for its four days of food and crafts.

4. Big Valley Jamboree Recognized by the Canadian Country Music Association, the four-day Big Valley Jamboree draws in over 100,000 country music fans. Held in early August, attendees can enjoy music from a range of reputable country music artists.
